What I love about photography is its ability to allow me a close and careful look at the complex simplicity of the world around me. In both my photographic images and my life I have been greatly influenced over the past 2 years by the notion of stillness. Each photograph I make is a meditation on this idea. I now strive to allow what is to be and within it find where truth and beauty lie. With this in mind, I use the tools of balance, texture, composition and lighting, to focus my energy and open my intuition towards creating a balance inside my photographs that will resonate this stillness to others. My Portraits are simple and straightforward studies of living breathing people, that strive to capture the shen of the individuals I work with. The shen is the soul that lives in ones heart and manifests as ones individual expression of life. I think the most powerful tool an artist has is the intention that they put behind the work they produce. It sets the vibration that their work brings into the world. I work from my intuition and my heart and strive to respect the human form, and not to exploit it.
